1 Rouble, Turkestan Krai, 1918

A temporary credit note of the Turkestan Krai, issued from Tashkent with text in Russian and Persian-Arabic script. Turkestan was cut off from central Russia by the Civil War fronts for much of 1918–19 and had to improvise a currency for a territory the size of western Europe.
