What was happening
The 1000 dinara of the 1978 series, dated 12 August 1978 — the agricultural counterpart to the industrial 10 dinara. The face shows an allegorical woman holding fruit, with a tractor ploughing and hills beyond: the harvest and the mechanised countryside, the other half of the socialist economy the dinar was meant to picture.
The reverse is ornamental; printed at the Zavod za izradu novčanica in Belgrade.
