What was happening

The 20 dinara of the 1978 series, dated 12 August 1978. Where the 10 dinara celebrated heavy industry, the 20 celebrates the sea: the face shows a merchant freighter at a port, a tribute to Yugoslavia's Adriatic shipping and seaborne trade — the country's window on the non-aligned world.

The reverse is ornamental; printed at the Zavod za izradu novčanica in Belgrade.
