What was happening
The blue half-million, dated 1993 — the landscape design, distinct from the green Dositej Obradović note of the same denomination and year ([[yugoslavia-500000-dinara-1993-hopovo]]). The face carries the portrait of a young man; the back, a snow-covered view of the Kopaonik mountain resort, Serbia's main ski region.
That a currency in free fall was still printing holiday scenery is part of what makes these notes so strange: the designs stayed placid while the numbers exploded.
This account belongs to the type, not this copy — it is shared by every 500000 Dinara, FR Yugoslavia, 1993 (Kopaonik) in the collection.
