What was happening
A literary note from the first year of the inflation. The face shows Ivo Andrić (1892–1975), the only Yugoslav winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, and the back shows the subject of his most famous novel: the Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge, the sixteenth-century Ottoman stone bridge over the Drina at Višegrad, of The Bridge on the Drina.
Dated 1992, part of the series whose values climbed as the dinar fell ([[yugoslavia-1000-dinara-1992]], [[yugoslavia-50000-dinara-1992]]).
This account belongs to the type, not this copy — it is shared by every 5000 Dinara, FR Yugoslavia, 1992 in the collection.
